The company was founded in 1976 by Jan G. van Aswegen with the introduction of a weekend bus service in Klerksdorp,  between Vaal Reefs Gold Mine and Maseru.
(Hence the name Vaal Maseru).

REVIEWING THE CURRENT STATUS

Vaal Maseru operates 6 x Ultra Luxury Coaches, 24 x Luxury Coaches, 104 x 60 Seater Semi Luxury buses, 6 x 110 Seater Semi Luxury Train buses, 6 x 20 Seater Midi Buses, 4 x 16 Seater Mini buses and 2 x 8 Seater mini buses from their main Depots to and from the Eastern Cape, Lesotho and Mozambique.  Daily dedicated long distance bus services between these areas and adjacent countries are available to passengers, at times and routes best suited to the majority’s request.

In addition to its normal business of transporting passengers on scheduled bus routes, Vaal Maseru offers for hire, private luxury buses to Schools,  Sports Clubs,  Churches and other

Organised groups who wish to embark on outings, recreational or educational tours.  With the introduction of the Ultra and Luxury Coaches in 2004, various other segments of the Passenger Transport industry is being exploited, including the tourist segment, organized tours and excursions.

The company also operates “Taylor made” contract services to employers who need transport for their workforce, to suit their individual needs and operational requirements.  Services to various townships and schools are also rendered on an ad hoc basis at tariffs well below the standard tariffs as part of our social upliftment program.
